SO LOW | I’m devastated (arrasado) after my partner told me she is no longer in love with me (apaixonada).

DEAR DEIDRE: AFTER being together for 23 years, my partner has decided she is no longer in love with me.

I am 43 and my partner is 41.

We’ve had our ups and downs (altos e baixos), but last week she said she still loved me but wasn’t “in love” any more.

She has been working away for several months, only coming home at weekends and it has given her time to think about us.

Now she is thinking about whether or not she can find the spark (estímulo, conexão, química) between us again.

What should I do? I can’t imagine my life without her.

I know you feel blindsided (pegar de surpresa, ser surpreendido) by this revelation but tell her you love her and want to give your relationship a chance.

Look at your working patterns (padrões/ritmo de trabalho) as her working away has clearly placed a strain (colocar uma tensão, pressão) on your relationship.

It’s vital to make a real effort to carve out (construir, criar) quality time together at least (pelo menos, no mínimo) a couple of times (algumas vezes) a week.
