- The present perfect continuous is used to express actions that started in the past. The activity is still happening or has just stopped.
- It’s used to highlight the amount of time a prolonged action has been going on for. (an action repeated many times). We use expressions like all morning /all night / all week/ all day / all day long.
- It is formed with have/has + been + verb in the –ing form.
| Affirmative > I/you/we/you/they have (‘ve) been waiting… he/she/it has (‘s) been waiting… | Negative > I/you/we/you/they have not (haven’t) been waiting… he/she/it has not (hasn’t) been waiting… |

- I‘ve been running for half an hour.
- Jane has been cooking all afternoon.
- He‘s been watching TV since 2 o’clock.
- It‘s been raining all day.
